- Valuation and the Management of Real Estate
"FIG Commission
9 is focusing on the economic strand of surveying and
specifically the valuation/appraisal of real estate. Commission
9 also looks at compulsory acquisition, sustainable land and
property taxation, new technology such as AVMs, informal land
markets, new sectors such as natural-ecosystem value and
international standards such ILMS and IVSC valuation standards
and methodology. Commission 9 is also engaged with numerous
agencies such as World Bank, UN FAO, GLTN, and IFC. "

community working on geomatics, land
administration, and cadastre. With contributions

United Nations Economic Commission for
Europe Working Party on Land Administration,
the conference will focus on land tenure,
valuation, professional education and capacity
development, AI, and digital transformation.

FIG Commission 9: 2025 Highlights
In 2025, FIG Commission 9 strengthened
international collaboration in real-estate valuation
through new partnerships, expert workshops, and
active participation in FIG events worldwide.
Highlights included a Memorandum of Understanding
with the International Valuation Standards Council,
discussions on transparency, artificial
intelligence, and environmental change, and meetings
across Australia, Europe, and the Mediterranean.
The year also saw the election of the next Chair
from 2027, and the Commission set priorities for
regional expansion, AI-driven market analysis, and
further publications on transparency.
Each member association has the right to
nominate a delegate to each of the ten technical
commissions. In addition Affiliates, Academic
Members and Corporate Members are welcome to nominate a
correspondent to each commission.

Achievements
This work promotes the careful consideration
of a transparent, fair, fast and relatively
