Visit by Makli to FIG Office in Copenhagen

On 4 October 2013 FIG Office had the pleasure to welcome nine representatives from the Finnish Association MAKLI, a FIG member association. Head of delegation was MAKLI President Jari Ahonen and FIG representative Martti  Pietikäinen. The MAKLI representatives came from various parts of Finland and they explained about their various challenges in the different regions. Hereafter they were given an introduction to FIG, hereunder the organisation, the commissions, the young surveyors network and the activities that FIG is undertaking e.g. in cooperation with various UN organisations hereunder e.g. UN-HABITAT GLTN and FAO as well as the World Bank.  

MAKLI also expressed their interest in hosting the FIG Working Week 2017 together with MIL, the other member association from Finland, due to the fact that in 2017 they celebrate the 100^th year independence.

It was a pleasure for FIG to welcome MAKLI in the Copenhagen office. Although most of the work of the office is solely administrative it is very inspiring to hear about the conditions of surveyors and their challenges from various pars of the world.
